Health & security

Before traveling to Morocco, it’s essential to check the latest health and safety guidelines from reputable sources such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It’s also advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or travel clinic to receive any necessary vaccinations or medications for your trip.

Insurance

When traveling to Morocco, we recommend having travel health insurance to protect your well-being. Here are the key points to consider:

Comprehensive Coverage: Ensure your insurance covers medical expenses, including doctor visits, hospitalization, prescriptions, and diagnostic tests.

Emergency Medical Evacuation: Be prepared for emergencies that require specialized care by having coverage for medical evacuation to appropriate facilities. Repatriation of Remains: In the unfortunate event of a death, repatriation coverage ensures the return of remains to your home country.

24/7 Emergency Assistance: Access round-the-clock support for medical referrals, translation services, and emergency medical transportation.

Pre-existing Conditions: Check if your policy covers pre-existing medical conditions or if additional coverage is necessary.

Documentation and Assistance: Keep copies of your insurance policy, emergency contact numbers, and relevant documents readily available throughout your trip.

Climate

Morocco experiences a diverse range of climates due to its varied geography. The country generally has a Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot summers and mild winters along the coastal regions. Inland areas like Marrakech and Fez have hotter summers and colder winters. The Atlas Mountains experience colder temperatures and even snowfall during winter months.

It’s advisable to check the weather conditions of your specific destination and plan accordingly. Packing lightweight and breathable clothing for warmer temperatures, along with layers for cooler evenings and higher elevations, is recommended. Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, hats, and comfortable walking shoes, especially if you plan to explore on foot.
